Steve’s career in the construction industry commenced in the UK in 1971 after training as an Engineer. He progressed into Project Management, graduated in 1979 and moved to Africa in 1980 to start his international career as Project Manager and Contracts Manager in Zambia, Tanzania and eventually General Manager in Malawi in 1986.
Returning to the UK in 1989, Steve continued his career progression with Interserve (then called RM Douglas), as Area Manager for the North East. In this role Steve implemented a culture of excellence and drove up standards across the business over a period of eight years, before returning to Africa in 1997.
Steve then spent four years with a major International Contractor as Regional Director responsible for all operations in Uganda and Zimbabwe. Returning to the UK in 2001 as Regional Director of a major UK contractor for a nine year period, then joined Khansaheb Civil Engineering LLC in 2010 as Group General Manager.
The Khansaheb business has been structured to deliver distinct service streams, which provide our customers with a full range of multi-disciplinary construction services. Each Division is led by a team of professionals with a demonstrable and enviable track record in their chosen field of expertise. This extensive range of construction related services, provided by one Contractor, is unique in the UAE.
Steve is a Degree qualified Engineer with a Masters Degree in Construction Management and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building.
Steve’s mix of International and UK experience as a business leader has enabled him to provide direction and leadership within Khansaheb.
Over the past thirteen years, he has built a very strong, professional senior management team, which has continued the improvement and development of Khansaheb into the successful construction company it is today.

The Khansaheb business is extremely well regarded in the UAE Construction market and has an enviable track record with over 80% of Khansaheb’s work coming from repeat business. Under Steve’s leadership, the Management team have delivered consistent returns for shareholders over a period of thirteen years, notwithstanding challenging market conditions in the UAE.
The Khansaheb vision continues to be based upon Delivering Excellent Customer Service and contributing to the development of the United Arab Emirates.
